　　DHL Supply Chain, Americas’ leader in contract logistics and part of Deutsche Post DHL Group, broke ground today on a new corporate head on Westar Place in Westerville, Ohio. The company will invest more than $20 million in the new head set to open in December 2019.

　　DHL Supply Chain has a long history with Central Ohio, and specifically Westerville, originally occupying space on Schrock Road in 1991 and moving to Polaris Parkway in 2003. In that time, the company developed collaborative partnerships with the Westerville community. Company executives explored several options for relocation, but decided to stay in Central Ohio, because of those partnerships, the existing talent that exists in the area and, most notably, the region’s importance in the logistics industry.

　　“Our decision to further invest in Central Ohio was a strategic one, as the region provides greater access to the U.S. than any other market,” said Scott Sureddin, CEO of DHL Supply Chain, North America. “Our new head will further enable us to meet the needs of our two most important stakeholders: our customers and our people.”

　　DHL Supply Chain employs 630 people at its current North American head in Westerville and has more than a dozen warehouses and facilities in Central Ohio. From those facilities, DHL Supply Chain is able to reach 46 percent of the U.S. population within a 10-hour drive, more than any major U.S. metro.

　　“Just by looking at a map, we know that Central Ohio is a logistics hub, but having DHL Supply Chain, the world’s largest third-party logistics provider, call the region its home makes Central Ohio the logistics hub,” said David C. Stadge, Chair of the Delaware County Finance Authority.

　　Westerville’s Polaris Parkway corridor presented an ideal location for an innovative new head, with quick access to major highways, increased development and room for expansion. The new building will accommodate more than 800 associates as the company plans to continue to grow in the next 10 years.

　　“Keeping DHL Supply Chain in Westerville not only represents a significant investment in our local economy, but it also symbolizes a true partnership between our city and the leader in logistics,” said City of Westerville Mayor Craig Treneff. “From associates volunteering around the city to the innovation the company has inspired in our community, we couldn’t imagine Westerville without DHL Supply Chain.”
